I'm back.
Mom was busy finishing the quilt, so she was not using the 'puter too much and as a result neither was I. She is finished with it and has given to Karen for the Hike 'N Howl. I hope it brings in LOTS of money for the doggies.
Mom has another new stuffie., It's name is Mush Mush - funny name. It is a tiny little thing and it is funny looking. She said it is a Boyd's - whatever that is?
Well, as I've said I finally got my way - I do not have to sleep in the crate any more. Now don't get me wrong, my crate is nice and it is cozy, but I only want to go in there when I want to, and I don't like the door locked.
Mom & Dad have been putting me in my crate at night when they went to bed - I have refused to go up the stairs and for awhile I was chewing on the furniture, especially the rocking chair with the stuffies on it! Well, I do not chew on the furniture anymore, so I don't think I need to be locked in my crate. So I have been letting myself out at night after they go to bed. It didn't seem to bother them too much except the one night I peed on the floor, but noone was down here to let me out so what did they expect?
Anyway this went on for about a week. Then one night Frank, my human brother put a lock on my crate and I could not get out. I tried and tried but I just could not get the lock off. I couldn't open the latch either. I tried so hard that my paws started bleeding and my nails were all chipped. Mom really freaked out. She called the vet and asked them what to do about my paws - he said to put something called neosporin on my paws.
When they went to bed that night Dad carried me upstairs. It was really wierd to sleep up there. Of course, I made him carry me down in the morning - I don't do the house stairs. The next night I also refused to go up stairs at bedtime, so Dad said to just leave me alone down here and see what happens.
Nothing happened. I just made myself comfy in my favorite spot by the sofa and went to sleep. So, I finally got my way - I only go in my crate when it is convient to me!

Oh, I can't wait for the day I get to sleep where I want. Mom says I'm just too busy to be left alone at night.
I like the being carried upstairs though. That was so cool of your Dad. He's a good guy.

Hi MayaMarie, The trick is to be persisatent! But you have to be careful also. I hurt myself by being too persistent - I tore up my paws and nails.
Yep, my Dad is a really cool guy.

Good for you! Sorry about your paws though, but sometimes that's what it takes to make the humans feel bad and then you get your way! Why don't you like the stairs? Are they slick? Maybe your humans could put a runner on them so you won't slide.
Holly
Hi Holly, Thanks. I don't know why I don't like the stairs. They are really nice stairs, carpeted with nice thick carpet. There is no railing - Mom & Dad took it down to refinish it. So maybe when they put it back I might try it.
I use the outside steps, they are OK, but I just don't like the ones inside the house.

Oh sleeping where you want rocks, doesn't it??
Hugs,
Sitka
Hi Sitka, Yes it does!! Dad says that when my paws heal I should sleep in my crate again, but I don't thinj it will happen I got it all figured out - I will just give him my 'cute' face and make sure I don't have any accidents and he will let me stay out of my crate.
