The Little Girl at the Shelter is Home

The Little Husky at the Shelter went home with my Aunt Dor yesterday!

Her name is Sasha - they decided to name her Sasha since that was what the shelter has been calling her.

They had their first Meet & Greet on Thursday after Christmas, and another one yesterday - Mom & Dad went with in that one and would not take us with them! When they came home they smelled like all kinds of other doggies.

Anyway, from what I understand from Mom, the Meet & Greet went really good. Mom, Uncle Kenny and the Shelter Volunteer took Sasha, and Honey (Aunt Dor & Uncle Kenny's doggie) for a walk a few times around the place to let them wear off some energy. They got along really well, they sort of ignored each other at first, then Sasha wanted to check out Honey. Honey wasn't too crazy about that at first, but then she was OK with it.

Then they brought them back inside the Shelter's fence area and took them into the play yard. They pretty much ignored each other. Honey kept looking for her family and was not really interested in the Little Husky.

The Shelter Volunteer called the rest of the family into the play yard - she wanted to see how Honey would react to Sasha when the rest of the family was in the yard. Same thing - no problem, not even when Aunt Dor, Uncle Kenny or Abby played with Sasha.

Then they called Mom & Dad into the yard - because they are at Aunt Dor's alot, the Volunteer wanted to see how the dogs would react - They were fine.

While everyone was in the yard talking, the two doggies finally began to check each other out. That also seemed to go well. Howevr, the Shelter Volunteer did warn Aunt Dor that things may not go as well when they took Sasha home. She told them that Honey may or may not become over-protective once inside her house. She also cautioned them about food (which is a problem with Sasha), treats and toys.
So, Little Sasha is now my new cousin. She is a cutie. The picture we have here is not a good one, Mom took it with her cell phone - she forgot her camera, of all days!
