I have some very sad news about my Husky sister, Magic.
Mom and Dad have made the heartbreaking decision to let her go to the Rainbow Bridge next week. She really has not been doing very good these last few weeks. She has had to have her medicine changed twice and it still does not seem to be helping.
Mom called and made the arrangements for Monday - Magic already had an appointment to see Dr. Ellis on that day. They all know she is sick, so she just called the office to let them know what she was doing. Mom was so upset she could hardly tell them what she wanted to do, but they understood. Magic is still going to see Dr. Ellis for confirmation, but we all think it is time.
She has been steadily declining. Besides the change in medicine, Magic's symptoms are getting worse. She is constantly licking at the area her tumors are in to the point that the area is red, raw, and it stinks really bad. Mom tries to keep an antibiotic on it, but Magic just licks it off.
Magic's legs are swollen, one of them is where the tumor connects to her lymph nodes and this leg is swollen more that the rest. She limps, and sometimes holds the really swollen leg up. She also is having a really hard time going up the stairs. She doesn't play, all she does is stay under the dining room table - she doesn't even come out to greet Mom when she comes home from work. There are also some other minor changes, she eats everything in sight - Magic is a VERY picky eater. It is like she is starving, but she is loosing weight. She does not want to lounge on the deck anymore, and she basically just wants to be left alone.
So, Mom & Dad think that before she gets worse - which they know she will - that they are going to release her from this horror.

We are so terribly sorry, but understand your decision. Best wishes Magic on your journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. We will send a prayer to Nikita to be sure to greet you!
We are really sorry to hear about this decision, but we trust that your mom is doing the best and most loving thing she can do for Magic. We will be thinking about you.
