Update on Magic

There isn't much to tell.
Magic is still hanging in there. She has her good days and bad ones, thankfully there is still more good than bad. Aspirin is still being used for pain management.
She spends most of her days just lounging around under the table. Her appetite is still pretty good, but Mom says she is loosing weight.
On her bad days you can tell she is in pain because she is grouchy and mopey. Rainy days are particularly painful for her because her arthritis also causes her pain.
She did have one pretty bad day last week, and she nearly bit my head off!! Mom had us out on the deck and when we came in we were running. I bumped Magic's hind legs and she growled at me! It wasn't her ususal grumbly growl either, it was a full-blown, snarly growl. I know I hit her leg, but I didn't mean it. Boy, was Mom mad at her. She hollared at her and told her that wasn't nice.I have become a Woman of Leisure. Magic doesn't like to play a whole lot anymore, so I haven't got a whole lot to do except just chill out. The chair next to Mom has become one of my favorite spots. I just curl up on the lounge chair next to Mom and watch TV with her.
So for now, all is quite here.

We feel for you. As Nikita's arthritis and other issues progressed, Natasha wanted to play, but Nikita did not. So the youngsters would go out to play and leave Nikita to her quiet time.

Good to hear things are still going well for you Magic.

Hi, and Thank You.
Unfortunately, we do not have any other Huskies here. It is just Magic & Me.
Mom & Dad try to play with me more often, but it is not the same as playing with my older sister:(

I'm glad to hear that Magic is still having plenty of good days. It would be hard to keep from being rough, but we know you're doing your best.

Hi Kat & Steve,
Thank You. Yes, it is tough not to rough house with her. I just want to play with her but she doesn't want to play, so I just lay next to her for most of the day to keep her company.

Poor Magic, I hope she keeps having more good days. It's hard to watch our pup mates get old and gimpy. Has your mom tried Rimadyl? That has worked wonders on 14 year old Abby!
