Shelter Dogs

We went for a ride today. We went to the shelter where Mom & Dad adopted Magic from. It is called the Animal Orphanage, and it is in a place called Voorhees, New Jersey.
We went to take food, treats, toys and blankets to the doggies and kitties who live there. Mom & Dad do this every year about this time, and also around Easter. We did not see too many doggies because they were all inside because it was too cold. They were having an open house, so they were very busy.
Santa Paws was there but we didn't go to see him, he was also very busy trying to get people to come in.
I did not go inside the kennel area but Mom did. She said there was a little Husky there who just came in last night. This little pup was so new to the shelter that they did not know whether she is a boy or girl - Mom looked, she is a girl - and they did not even give her a name yet. She is a little sweetie and she was talking to my Mommy. Mom left her name and information about MaPaw and told them to keeps us in mind if no one comes in to adopt her.
The volunteer that Mom was talking to also has a Siberian of her own at home. Her Husky was adopted from Tails of the Tundra. I thought that was cool!

Oh that is very cool. Our daddy was helping out a friend tonight and was delivering pizzas. He called mommy to tell her he ran into a Husky named Sasha that was adopted from Harnessed to Hope. We thought that was pretty cool.

Your mommys tree looks so pretty. Our mommy really likes your santa/husky ornament. Mommy got some new decorations for her tree too. Since all hers got ruined in the move. So mommy was crying all her special ornaments got broked so daddy got her some new ones. Not cool husky ones like your mommy but soon enought. Daddy promised.

I will post pics and blog about our tree once Daddy comes home and we finish decorating it.

Hi Quincy & Tristian, That was cool that your Daddy ran into an HTH doggie.
Mommy never finishes decorating our tree. She keeps decorating it throughout the whole holiday season. She is always buying and adding new decorations to the tree. I think she likes shopping for tree ornaments better than any other kind of shopping!
Can't wait to see pix of your tree.
Talk to you later

Hi Holly, Steve, Kat & Wilbur,
I hope she finds a good home. We cannot go back and get her because the State of New Jersey has a law that says they cannot put her up for adoption for a week in case she is a lost doggie and her Mommy & Daddy are looking for her. So what my Mommy did was give them MaPaws business card and told them if no one claims her or puts an application in for her at the end of a week to call and we will see if we can find a foster home for her. This way she hopefully won't have to spend Christmas in a shelter.
Keep your paws crossed and say Husky prauers that she finds a home.

Great job helping other "less fortunate" doggies! We hope they will all find a home for the holidays....esp. the little pup, a sibe-experienced one that is.

Hi Kelsey Ann, Some of the doggies at the Shelter may not get homes for the holidays, but....
The Little Girl Sibe might get one! My Aunt Dor finds out today if they can adopt her! All our paws, finger, and toes are crossed. I wi;ll keep everyone posted.

Ohh... I see in the comments below that she may get a home for Christmas. That is awesome and is making mom get all teary eyed! That is very cool that your parents take gifts to the shelter every year. What a nice tradition.

hugs,
Sitka
